About Wintuwa

Wintuwa Records is an independent home for electronic music that dissolves the borders between club culture and spiritual experience. We honor rhythm as a universal language — ancient yet modern, personal yet collective. Every release, every gathering, every ritual is a celebration of connection between dancers, artists, ancestors, the unseen and the modern world.

The Arhuaco (also known as Iku, Wintukua or Wintuwa) are an indigenous tribe from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta ‚Gonawindua' in northern Colombia. They live along with three other tribes in the Sierra Nevada: the Kogi, Kankuamo and Wiwa. Together they see themselves as the spiritual guardians of the Earth — the Elder Brothers — responsible for maintaining the world’s balance while humanity, the Younger Brothers, has forgotten how to listen to nature.

Their spiritual leaders, the Mamos, act as mediators between the physical and the spiritual realms. The Arhuaco believe in Aluna, the cosmic consciousness that connects all beings. Every mountain, river and human is a manifestation of this sacred mind. Through meditation, offerings and rituals, they preserve harmony between humans, nature and the spirit world — keeping the Earth in equilibrium.

As an eco-label, Wintuwa Records is honored to support the Peace With Nature project in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia — revered by the indigenous Arhuaco, Kogui, Wiwa and Kankuamo peoples as the Heart of the World. This initiative, led by Sun Nation, collaborates with these communities to regenerate ecosystems, protect sacred lands and preserve biodiversity. By donating parts of our label earnings to this cause, we contribute to a global but local connected effort to restore vital ecosystems and promote environmental justice.
